The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. - Steve Jobs
True greatness in any field comes from a deep passion and love for what we do. It encourages us to keep searching and striving for our passions and to never settle for anything less than our best. It also reminds us that when we find what we truly love, it will be evident in the quality of our work. So keep searching, keep striving, and never give up on your dreams!

US Department of Energy: Fusion Ignition Achieved
//energy.gov
The US Department of Energy and its National Nuclear Security Administration announced that Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has achieved fusion ignition, a scientific breakthrough that could lead to advancements in national defense and clean power. The experiment at the National Ignition Facility produced more energy from fusion than the laser energy used to drive it, and could provide insights into the feasibility of clean fusion energy and support the NNSA's Stockpile Stewardship Program.
This is basically saying: Energy Released > Ignition Energy. It is not saying: Energy Release > Total Energy used. This means that the lasers used to deliver the energy consumed more energy than was added to the nuclear ignition. Nonetheless, this is a huge accomplishment, I would say we are still at least 10 years out from commercial-viable nuclear fusion.
My recommendation would be to continue investing in fusion and guaranteed energy sources such as nuclear fission and solar while substantially reducing our reliance on oil.

Okay, all of you have heard of ChatGPT by now. If you haven't, please go try it out now. Anyways, how does it work?
Start with GPT-3: predict the next word in some text by training on the internet
Manually write responses for certain prompts to train
Generate responses for prompts, humans rank the responses
Predict how humans will rate responses and train the model
Take a sample of those responses and have humans review
Release ChatGPT and allow users to rate responses
Want a simpler answer? Let's ask ChatGPT.

We can now 3D print as much wood as we want without cutting a single tree
//interestingengineering
I'm a huge 3D printer nerd, I've 3D printed so many things, and love to see new breakthroughs like this.
Researchers at MIT have developed a technique for 3D-printing lab-grown wood using cells from the flowering plant Zinnia elegans, or common zinnia. The cells are treated with a liquid medium and a gel solution containing hormones and nutrients, which can be adjusted to alter the physical and mechanical properties of the plant matter produced. The process has the potential to reduce waste and environmental disruption, as it does not require whole plants to be sacrificed.

Stop being busy and build some openness into your life. At that point, you will be free.
Which are you optimizing for?

The key thing is that you should have fun while you work. It shouldn't feel like "work".
More will change in search in 2023 than changes we've seen between 2005-2022. Google will actually have competition and it will be more than just OpenAI.

Many people already include "Reddit" at the end of their search queries on Google. Personally, I do this all of the time when I want to dive deep into something and find the strengths/weaknesses around a topic. This site essentially aggregates all of that discussion into a product or brand for you.
Let's give a simple example. You're looking to buy a new Bluetooth speaker. Based on this site, I'll click on r/bluetooth_speakers and find that as of today, Soundcore Motion+ is my best option. This is crazy! I've never even heard of this brand.

Okay you got me, ChatGPT made this using this prompt:
I will give you 2 words at each prompt separated by a comma, example x,y. You will then create a new and innovative product out of anything related to those words, and then give the product a name. Then you will sell me on that product. The first two words I give you are sunny,vitamins.
It isn't the most creative, but it doesn't have to be! It is a great marketer and helps eliminate writer's block.
